In this book – The United States and Revolutionary Iran: A History – I extend my research on the relationship between power and culture in US-Iran relations into the post-1979 period.

The book is under contract with Wiley, and manuscript preparation is currently in progress. This work of synthesis will provide a sharp narrative history of US-Iran relations during the nearly five decades since the Iranian Revolution. The book will engage with the state and transnational levels, and it will include dozens of primary sources that will be useful to teachers and students.

In the end, The United States and Revolutionary Iran will offer a “history with a human face” of a bilateral relationship that is too often understood solely within securitized frameworks.
